Glenties Notes on July 6th 2001

Congratulations and best wishes to Rev. Martin Timoney, who was ordained to the priesthood on Sunday 1st July 2001 by Bishop Philip Boyce in St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny. Fr. Martin came home to a great welcome with the route decorated with buntings, flags and banners. Bonfires also blazed along the way. Everyone is invited to join in the celebration of his First Mass of Thanksgiving is in the Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh tonight, Monday 2nd July at 7.30p.m. and receive his First Blessing. His first Mass in Glenties will be on Saturday next 7th July at 7.30p.m. Fr. Martin is a son of Brian and Anne Timoney, Knockletragh.

Congratulations to Maeve Ward, Buncrubog, Glenties and Martin Bell, Glenfin who were married on Saturday last.

Congratulations to Paddy Joe and Bridget Boyle, Letterilly, Glenties, who celebrated their fortieth wedding anniversary recently.

Congratulations to Josephine and Owen Harkin, Rosbeg, on the birth recently of their fourth child, a baby sister for Aoife, Fionnuala and Eoghan. Josephine is a daughter of Peter and Kathleen Gallagher, Main Street, Glenties.
