Glenties Notes on May 21st 2001

St. Thérese of Lisieux is better known to most of us as the ‘Little Flower’. The relics of St. Thérese arrived in Ireland on Easter Sunday, at the invitation of the Irish Bishops. The vision statement of the visit is that: “the coming of the relics of St. Thérese to Ireland will help individuals and groups to grasp the life and teaching of the Saint, and to consider and renew their own journey in faith to God”. As part of the overall visit the relics will be taken to the Diocese of Raphoe. They will arrive from Derry, to St. Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny on Friday 1st June. On Saturday 2nd June, they will be taken to St. Fionan’s Church, Falcarragh, and on Sunday 3rd June, the reliquary that holds St. Thérese’s mortal remains will be taken to the Church of St. Joseph and St. Conal, Bruckless.

A bus will be going to the healing Mass in Rossnowlagh on Sunday 3rd June, leaving Mc Guinness’s at 1.30 p.m. After the Mass there will be a visit to the reliquary of St. Thérese of Lisieux in the Church of St. Joseph and St. Conal, Bruckless. For further information ring Mc Guinness’s at 51284.
