Glenties Notes on October 25th 2001

Congratulations to Nicola Hegarty, Ard Patrick, Glenties and John Cruise, Westmeath, who got engaged recently.

Congratulations to Clare and Columba Gavigan, Glen Road, Glenties, on the birth recently in Letterkenny Hospital of their first child, a baby girl.

Congratulations to Bried (nee Craig) and Herbert Roog, Meenahalla, Glenties on the birth recently of their baby boy in Letterkenny Hospital.

Glenties Church of Ireland will hold a Fund Raising Supper Dance in the Highland’s Hotel, Glenties, on Friday 9th November. Music is by Cannon & Ramsey Band. Supper will be served from 8.30p.m. to 9.30p.m. Admission is £8.00.

The death took place on Sunday 14th October 2001, in the Sean O’Haire Unit of St. Joseph’s Hospital, Stranorlar of Charlie, son of the late Charlie and Bella Byrne, Maas, Glenties. His remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Monday evening. Fr. Patrick Prendergast P.P. Glenties celebrated Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning. Burial took place in the New Cemetery. He is survived by, Patrick, John, James, Leo, Mary, Maas, Glenties, Nora, Donegal, Manny, U.S.A., Michael, Danny, Annie, England, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended. His brother, Joseph predeceased him in 1991.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Andy Doherty, The Rock and Lily Gallagher, Meenahalla, Glenties on the death of their sister, Mary Kirwin, in the U.S.A.

The death took place on Thursday 11th October 2001, in Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, Dublin of Frank Mc Loone, Sandyford and formerly Mill Road, Glenties. Burial took place in Mount Jerome Cemetery, Dublin. He is survived by his wife, Nita, son John, sisters, Rose, Dublin, Annie, England, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, to whom sincere sympathy is extended. His brothers Phil, Ally and Phonsie predeceased him.
