The club held a very sucessful underage function in the clubhouse last Thursday night with the Sam Maguire Cup the special guest. It was a great night for all the underage teams who got their photo taken with the cup and we would like to thank Caulbert Donnelly from Tyrone who came on the night with cup.

The AGM takes place on Sunday 25th January at 3pm in the clubhouse.

The club calendar is on sale in all local outlets at 8 Euro.

Naomh Conaill Notes 5th January 2009

Congratulations to our U21s who won the U21 Championship for the 3rd year in a row last Wednesday in The Banks beating Gaoth Dobhair 2-10 to 0-07. It is a fantastic acheivement and it has only been done once before by Kilcar in the early seventies. A lot of credit must go to manager Leo Mc Loone and his mentors for all their hard work and to the players for all their deadication and commitment over the last few months especially over the Christmas peroid. Hopefully they can go on now to do 4 in a row with only 2 of the team overage this year. We would like to thank Shaun Molloy and Kieran Kennedy who sponsored meals for the team.

Well done to Eoin Wade who capped of a great week by making his senior debut for Donegal against UUJ in the Mc Kenna cup last Sunday.

There will be a underage function in the clubhouse this Thursday night between 7.30pm and 9pm and the special guest on the night will be the Sam Maguire cup.

The AGM will take place on Sunday 25th January at 3pm in the clubhouse.

Naomh Conaill Notes 29th December 2008

The U21s were due to meet Gaoth Dobhair in the U21 final replay in Letterkenny on New Years Eve at 1pm. The two teams finished all square 2-08 each after extra time in Glenties last Sunday in a very good and exciting game of football. The match was switched to Glenties after O’Donnell Park was unplayable and the club would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to get the field ready at short notice.

The Dinner Dance was held last Sunday with a very large crowd in attendence. Presentations made on the night were Senior Player of the Year – Anthony Thompson, Most Improved Player – Martin Regan, Reserve Player of the Year – Michael O’Donnell, Third Team Player of the Year – Martin Gallagher, Club Person of the Year Gerry O’Donnell. Ladies Senior Player of the Year – Aoife Mc Devitt, Most Improved Player Allana Molloy. Medals were presented on the night to the Senior Ladies team who won the Junior League and the U16 boys team who won the Divisional Championship.

The AGM takes place on Sunday 28th January at 3pm in the clubhouse. All nomiations and motions should be with the Secretary on or before the 5th January.

Applications for the Senior manager should also be with the secretary before the 5th January.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Shane Hegarty, Stranorlar and Conal Mc Loone. The numbers drawn were 6,10,19,21.This weeks jackpot is 2,200 Euro.

Good luck to our U21s who meet Gaoth Dobhair in the Co Final this Sunday 28th December at 1.45pm in Letterkenny. They reached the final after beating St Eunans 0-11 to 0-04 in Ballybofey last Saturday. We hope that once again that our loyal supporters will travel in large numbers to cheer on the team.

The Dinner Dance takes place this Sunday 28th December in the Highlands.Music is by Flipside and tickets are 35 Euro and are availble from club officers or Mc Glincheys.

The AGM will be held on Sunday 25th January in the clubhouse at 3pm.All nomiations and motions should be with the secretary on or before 5th March.

Congratulations to Glenties Comprehensive U 16 team who beat Bundoran in the County Final last week. The team was captained by Hughie Gallagher.

Hard luck to the Senior team who were beat by St Eunans 1-9 to 1-7 in the league final in Ballybofey last Sunday. Leading by 2pts near the end of first half they suffered a big blow when St Eunans scored 1-1 in injury time to lead by 2pts at half time.They tried in vain at the end to breach St Eunans defence but they stood firm and held out to won by 2pts.

Good luck to the Senior team who meet St Eunans in the Div 1A league final this Sunday in Ballybofey at 2pm. They reached the final after beating Dungloe in Letterkenny last Sunday 0-12 to 1-05. We hope a large crowd will travel and support the boys.

Well done to the Aodh Ruadh quiz team John Magee, PJ Buggy, Peter Campbell and Slyvester Maguire who won the Ultimate GAA Quiz held in the Higlands Hotel last Sunday and in second place was the NCA team who were Paddy Boyle, Hugh Brendan Mc Dyre, Paddy Doherty(Glenfin) and Kieran Mc Monagle(Letterkenny). We would like to thank all the teams who took part and a lot of them had to travel long distance on a bad night and to the organising committee for all their work and the Hotel who were very helpful. Thanks also to our sponsor MCM. It was a very enjoyable evening and everyone that was there enjoyed themselfs and we hope to make this a annual event.

The Naomh Conaill ladies are hosting a variety concert this Friday 28th November at 8pm in The Market Hall.Admission is 10 Euro,students 5 Euro and the doors open at 7.30pm. So come along for a good evenings entertainment.

The club are hosting the Ultimate GAA Quiz this Sunday 23rd November at 8pm in the Highlands Hotel with registration starting at 7.30pm. The first prize is 500 Euro and 100 Euro for second placed team.Entry fee is 50 Euro and there is a maximum of 4 per team. All GAA enthusiasts are urged to come along for a good evenings fun and test your GAA knowledge against the best in the county as all the Gaa clubs in the county have being invited to attend.

The Seniors have advanced to the league semi final after beating Four Masters 0-8 to 1-4 in Glenties last Sunday. They now meet Dungloe in O Donnell Park, Letterkenny this Sunday at 1pm.

The Seniors beat Ardara 1-13 to 1-09 in a league play of under the lights in Ballybofey last Saturday evening. It was a very entertaining game played in very wintery conditions and both teams did their best to play good football. The seniors are now due to meet Four Masters this Sunday in Glenties or Donegal Town. The Reserves played their last game of the year last Sunday at home to Dungloe and were well beat on the day.
