Glenties Notes 14th September 2012

Sympathy:
Sincere sympathy is extended to Peggy Molloy, Mully, Glenties and her family on the death of Peggy’s brother, Joe Mc Cready, Donegal Town, which took place last week.

Adult Education Courses in St. Columba’s Comprehensive School:
All courses run every Tuesday night from 7.30 – 9. 30 p.m. Courses on offer are – Intermediate Computers, ECDL START Progression Module1, Conversational French, Conversational Italian, Zumba, Circuits for Ladies, Learn how to use a digital Camera, Making DVDs from your Home Clips& Photos, Beginners Keyboard, Beginners Guitar, Simple and Delicious French Cooking, Patchwork, Introduction to Health and Safety in the Workplace. Enrolment will take place on Monday 17th September from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. or during office hours 9.30 a.m. to1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday – Friday. All fees must be paid in the school office on or before enrolment night. Concessionary fee for unwaged participants – one class per term. This concession is not available to unemployed people whose spouse is earning a salary or wage. Please note that satisfactory evidence of unemployment must be produced i.e. evidence of receipt of social welfare, pension book, etc. All participants must be at least 18 years old. Free Courses with the Learning for Living Programme:
Beginners Computers, Computers and Online, Form Filling for Farmers, Introduction to Internet and email, Internet and Social Networking Awareness, Project Maths to Junior Cert, Euro-watchers Money Management, Driving Theory Test, Conversational Irish, Junior Cert History, and Home Baking on a Budget.

Bingo:
The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 4th September were – Anne Timoney won the Jackpot of € 300; Faye Moore won € 200; Brown Kid, Nora Mc Hugh, Mrs Monaghan, Gráinne Gallagher, Paula Hegarty, Ann Byrne, Ardara and Fiona Gallagher won € 100 each; Charlie Mc Carron won € 60; Fidelma Burke, Bruckless, Margaret Byrne, Dunkineely, Teresa Molloy, Fintown, Irene Langan, Terence Breslin, Fidelma Burke, Bruckless, Carol Sweeney, Rosbeg, Rosaleen Gallagher, Bridie Doherty, Nancy Mc Gill and Gráinne Gallagher won € 50 each.

Tír Chonaill Gap Cycling Club would like to say a big thank you to everyone that supported our annual harvest fair cycle and also a thank you to all the marshals and members who helped out with the food etc. It was a great day all round and everybody’s support and help was much appreciated.
