Mullantyboyle Bridge Update:
Cllr. Terence Slowey requested a full update regarding the present status of work on the Mullantyboyle Bridge, from the Area Manager for Roads at Donegal County Council. That update was provided at our most recent Area Meeting in Dungloe last week. €100,000 was provided by Government in 2013 for this project. It has now been decided that the bridge design will be a single span and it will be located slightly down stream so as to ensure the road is straight on both sides of the bridge. The money allocated will fund the design of the bridge and progress the project to the tendering stage. In addition, the money provided will fund the removal of the existing damaged Bridge structure the centre Pier in the river and leave the site ready for the installation of a new bridge. Lastly, Cllr Slowey says the funding will allow for the replacement of a culvert on the Tullyard road that is in poor condition and will facilitate the transporting of heavy equipment and materials that will be needed to erect the new bridge.
