Glenties Notes on January 8th 2004

Congratulations to Helen Mc Nelis and Malachy Gallagher, Ardara, who got engaged recently. Helen is a daughter of Conal and Margaret (Spillane) Mc Nelis, Ard Patrick, Glenties. Malachy’s mother is from Glenties (Josie Mc Elhinney, Meenahalla).

Joseph and Caroline Bonner were married in St. Conal’s Church, Doochary on Saturday 27th December 2003. Fr. Keating officiated and celebrated Nuptial Mass. Joseph is a son of Joe and Marie Bonner, Buncrubog, Glenties and Caroline is a daughter of Michael and Mary Bonner, Doochary. Her father gave the bride away and her sister, Christine and the groom’s sister, Helena were bridesmaids. The groom’s brother, Rory was bestman and a friend, Brian Gallagher was groomsman. Mary Rose and Anthony Gallagher were flowergirl and pageboy. Marie and Caroline Bonner, mother and sister of the groom brought the Gifts to the Altar. Music and singing was by Sr. Helen, Sr. Rosaleen, Pat O Donnell and Denise Boyle. The reception was held in the Lake House Hotel, Clooney, Portnoo and the honeymoon was spent in Boston.

Congratulations to Anthony Briody, who recently graduated from the University of Limerick with an MBS in Human Resource Management. Anthony is a son of Liam and Sylvia Briody, The Rock, Glenties.

Joe Coyle, Tangavane, Glenties, died at his home on Friday 12th December 2003. His remains were brought to the Church of the Holy Family, Edeninfagh on Sunday 14th. Fr. Nigel Ó Gallachóir C.C. Glenties assisted by Fr. Kevin Gillespie, C.C. Fintown concelebrated Requiem Mass. Readings were by daughter, Breege Coyle and granddaughter, Caroline Moy. Breda Moy, Fiona and Roisin Mc Daid and Sharon Molloy, grandchildren of the deceased, read Prayers of the Faithful. Burial took place in Edeninfagh Graveyard. Joe is survived by his wife, Mamie, daughters, Mary, Kitty, Anne, Breege, Margaret, Rosie, Winnie and Eileen, sons, Joe, John, Jimmy and Paddy, brother, Eddie and sisters, Kitty Mc Guigan and Mary Turley, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Bridget Gallagher, Meenahalla, Glenties, who died in Letterkenny Hospital on Thursday 1st January 2004.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Johnny Given, Mill Road, Glenties who died on Saturday 3rd January 2004.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Margo Gallagher, The Rock, Glenties on the death recently of her uncle, Thomas Stewart, Curraghamone, Ballybofey.
