Glenties Notes on November 4th 2004

Congratulations to Angela Mc Dyer, Maas, Glenties who recently graduated from the Tourism College, Killybegs with a Distinction in Culinary Arts.

Congratulations to Elaine Gallagher, who graduated recently from the Tourism College, Killybegs with an F.E.T.A.C. Certificate in Professional Cookery. Elaine is a daughter of Cormac and Eileen Gallagher, Main Street, Glenties.

Congratulations to Jim and Maureen Mc Guinness, Ard Patrick, Glenties who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last week.

Congratulations to eleven year old Emma Mc Bride who was one of eight winners from across Scotland to win the Scottish Parliament Postcard Competition. As winner for the Glasgow region Emma, accompanied by her mother Marjorie, were guests at the opening of the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. She took part in the procession along the Royal Mile and attended the reception in the company of the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. Her postcard is now displayed in the Parliament. Emma is a granddaughter of John and Isobel Mc Loone, Mill Road, Glenties and is a frequent visitor to Glenties.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Maggie Boyle (nee Connaghan) Dr. Mc Closkey Crescent, Glenties, who died in Brentwood Manor Nursing Home, Convoy in the early hours of Monday morning 1st November 2004.
