Naomh Conaill Notes 26th April 2011

The seniors had a busy but successful weekend with victories away to Glenswilly 2-7 to 0-7 on Good Friday and Gweedore 2-12 to 1-12 at home on Monday. The reserves played Gweedore on Monday as well and won 0-10 to 1-6.

Ar an Domhnach ag 8.00in beidh foireann ag glacadh pairt i Tráth na gCeist faoi réir Seamus Mac Giollabhuí agus beidh Fionna ní Luaigh as Baile na Finne ag glacadh páirt i gComortas an Cailín Gaelach ar son an chlub. Guimid adh mhór orthu uilig.

Congratulations to Jim and the Donegal team especially Anthony, Marty, Dermott, Eoin, Dara and Leo on beating Laois in the Div 2 final in Croke Park last Sunday.

The minors are at home to St Nauls this Friday at 6.30pm

The U16s were beat by Na Rossa last Monday evening and they are away to Naomh Columba next Monday at 6.30pm. The U14s won the Feile blitz which we hosted last Saturday beating Na Rossa and Naomh Mhuire. They now go on the Regional final which is due to be played this Saturday in Donegal Town at 11am. The U12s are away to Bundoran this Thursday at 6.30pm in the Go Games competition.

The U12 girls team are going to Cookstown this Saturday in a U12 Ulster Development Blitz. The U14 girls are in the final U14 Feile after winning their group last week. They play St Eunans in the final this week. The venue and date has yet to be fixed. The senior ladies beat Naomh Columba in the Gaeltacht last Friday. They now play Ardara in the Gaetacht final this Monday.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 4,8,10,23. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Damian Craig and Mary Mc Devitt Ard Patrick. The jackpot this week is 6,300 Euro.

Take Your Pick takes place every Saturday night in Keeneys and this weeks jackpot is 900 Euro.

Naomh Conaill Notes 15th February 2011

Congratulations to John O’Malley (captain), Seamus Ellis, Jason Campbell and Mark Gallagher who part of the Donegal Vocational Schools team that beat Monaghan in the Ulster Final last Wednesday night in Kildress. They now play Meath in the All Ireland semi final this Saturday in Ballyconnell at 2pm.

Well done to the Glenties Comprehensive U14 team who defeated Inver College, Carrickmacross last Thursday in the Ulster Schools quarter final. They now play St Ciarans, Ballygawley in the semi final this Friday in Castlederg at 11.30am or 12 noon. Anyone travelling to the game should however confirm details before hand.

The club held a very sucessful Annual Presentation Dinner Dance last Saturday night in the Highlands Hotel. Special Guests on the night were Aoife Mc Donald, Cathal Corey, Tony Scuillion and Sean Conoughton Co Board Youth Officer. Medals were presented on the night to our victorious Senior and U21 championship winning teams and our senior ladies team winners of the Junior Gaeltacht. Award winners on the night were Senior Player of the Year went to Anthony Thompson, Most Improved Player Martin Regan, Reserve Player of the Year Hughie Gallagher, Third Team Player of the Year Philip Gallagher and Hugh Breslin. Ladies Player of the Year winner was Emily Thompson and Most Improved Ladies Player was Laoise Ward. Presentataions were also made to John O’Malley, Seamus Ellis, Jason Campbell and Mark Gallagher who were members of the Donegal Vocational Schools team that won the Ulster Final last week and presentations were also made to Leo Mc Loone, Dermot Molloy, Ciaran Boyle and Seamus Corcoran who were part of the Donegal U21 team that won the Ulster championship.

There will be a first aid course in the clubhouse this Friday from 6pm to 10pm and on Saturday and Sunday from 9.30pm to 4.30pm. The cost of the course is 75 Euro and there is a limited places left anyone interested can contact Roseleen Doherty.

The AGM will be on Sunday 27th Feb in the clubhouse at 6pm.

Naomh Conaill Notes 8th September 2010

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 2,13,22,26. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Leo McLoone and Roseleen Gallagher, Cummin Ardara. The jackpot now stands at 3,300 Euro. The 4th draw in the 200 club was held last Monday at the excuetive meeting and the 1st prize of 500 Euro went to Eddie Gallagher, Ard Mc Gill and 5 prizes of 100 Euro each went to John Molloy, Narin Road, Leo Mc Loone (jnr), Eimer O’Donnel, Gerry Molloy, Glen Road and Fiona Quinn.

Both the seniors and reserves were beaten at home in league by St Michaels last Saturday evening.

The date of the Co Final has been changed and it will now be played on Sunday 3rd October.

The 3rds had a good victory away to St Michaels last Monday evening winning 2-7 to 0-3.

Hard luck to the minors who lost out in a very exciting Regional final against Kilcar played in Dunkineely last Friday evening. They now go to play Cloughaneely in the co semi final.

The club are hosting the annual Harvest Fair U10 blitz this Saturday starting at 10.30pm.

Well done to Eoghan McGettigan who won the annual U12 skills competition which was held last Wednesday at the field. Kieran Gallagher was second followed by JD Boyle in third. These three each received a club backpack or football as a prize. Eoghan now goes on to represent the club in the County Skills Final on Friday 24th September at 5.30pm at St Marys GAA Club, Convoy.

The club are holding various fund raising events over the Harvest Fair weekend starting with a Pig Race this Saturday on the main street at 4.30pm and The Harvest Fair Cycle Challenge 30km and 60km takes place this Sunday 12th Sept. Registration is at 11am at the clubhouse and the cycle starts at 12pm. Refreshments and showers are availble afterwards. There will be a Tractor Balancing competition on over the weekend on the Glen Road.

Well done to Aoife McDonnell and the Donegal ladies on reaching the All Ireland Intermediate Final.
