Naomh Conaill Notes 18th August 2011

There was no winner of last weeks club lotto. The numbers drawn were 4,9,19,21.Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Gerry Doherty, Tullyard Road and Emer Doherty, Kilcar. This weeks jackpot is 7,900 Euro.

The ladies drew with Cloughaneely 1-6 each in the Junior final in Ballybofey last Sunday. The replay is due to take place this weekend.

The reserves made a disappointing exit from the championship losing to St Eunans in Glenswilly last Sunday evening.

The U16s had a good victory against Naomh Colmcille in the co semi final last Monday evening in Killygordan. No date has being fixed for the final yet.

The U14s beat Ardara 4-9 to 2-7 in the Regional semi final last Friday in Fintra. They were due to play Aodh Ruadh in the final on Wednesday 17th Aug.

The club are holding a summer camp running from Tues 23rd August to Friday 26th August. The cost will be 20 Euro per child and 10 Euro for additional child. Registration forms will be available the morning of the camp.

There will be a Table Quiz in aid of the Donegal team training fund in Keeneys Bar this Friday night starting at 9pm. The winning team will go on to All County Quiz Final in the Abbey Hotel on Thursday 25th August.Please support.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 1,11,19,25. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Sean McGlynn, Cloghan and Shane McLoone, Main Street. The jackpot now stands at 6,800 Euro.

Congratualions to the U16 team and management who won the Div 2 league last Wednesday evening in Letterkenny beating Naomh Colmcille in the final 2-7 to 1-9.

The U10 and U12 management would like to thank anyone who helped make the recent fundraising for the purchase of tracksuits for the 2 teams a great sucess. We would like to thank especially all parents and friends of the boys and girls who bought lines in our hamper draw. We would like to thank Phonsie O’Donnell of O’Donnells Bar, Donegal Town and Mellys supermarket who sponsored the prizes for the draw. The U10 team management would like to say a special thanks to McGlincheys Mace for providing a new set of jerseys for the team. The U12s travelled to Moy, Co. Tyrone last Saturday to take part in a blitz and performed very well. They were very unluckly to get beat at the semi final stage by a point.

The 3rd team had a 4 point victory away to Pettigo in the league last Sunday.

The U14 gilrs would like to thank everyone who came out and supported there Wax, Shave and Dye night in Mellys Bar last Friday night. The night was a great sucess and they raised 1,763 Euro. Anyone that was collecting the Tesco tokens should return them to the ladies committee.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 1,4,11,15. Two prizes of 50 Euro went to Hugh Brendan McDyer, Ard Mc Gill and Bernie Keeney, The Rock.The jackpot now stands at 6,700 Euro.

Good luck to the U16s who are due to play Naomh Colmcille in the co league final on Wednesday 25th May at 7pm in Letterkenny.

The club had 3 U10 teams taking part in a blitz in Kilcar last Saturday and they all had a very sucessful and enjoyable day dispite the bad weather. The U8s have a blitz in Ardara on Thursday 26th May and the bus leaves the clubhouse at 5.30pm

The seniors were away to Glenswilly last Sunday evening in the 1st leg of the championship and in a very low scoring game it ended 0-6 each. The reserves had great victory against Glwnswilly winning 0-12 to 0-4.

Good luck to Red Hughs on the official opening of their new clubhouse this Sunday at 4.30pm by GAA President Christy Conney. There will be challange game afterwards at 6pm between a Naomh Conaill select and the Donegal senior team. The Naomh Conaill select will include players from Derry and Tyrone. We would like to thank Red Hughs for inviting the senior team to be part of the opening.

The senior ladies beat Letterkenny Gaels at home in the 1st leg of the championship last Sunday. They play the 2nd leg away this Sunday at 12.30pm. The U14 girls are at home to St Michaels on Thursday at 7.30pm. The U12 girls have their first blitz this Saturday in Mountcharles at 11am. They are in the same group as St Nauls, Four Masters and Ardara. There will be a wax, shave or dye fundraiser in Mellys Bar on Friday night at 9pm. This is in aid of the U14 girls who are through to the All Ireland Feile in Cork at the end of June. Please come and support.
