Glenties Notes 4th October 2012

All Ireland Champions:
Jim and his team received a great reception when they arrived in Glenties with the Cup last week. They were due at 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday evening but it was almost 2.00 a.m. on Thursday morning when they arrived. A huge crowd waited patiently for them on the Chapel Brae. The local men, Jim, Leo, Anthony, Dermot, Marty, Joe and Charles were on the back of an open truck with the Sam Maguire Cup when they passed through the town, with people out on the street cheering them on. Jim got off the truck at the bottom of the town to bring Sam over to his aunt Nellie and give her a hug.
