Congratulations to our U-10 team who won the Eoghan Gilmour Memorial Tournament hosted by the Fanad Gaels Club in Portsalon last Saturday. The strong opposition comprised of Sean O Leary’s (Newbridge, Co Derry), Gaoth Dobhair, St Eunans, Na Dunaibh and Fanad Gaels. After topping their group they defeated Na Dunaibh in the semi-final which earned them the right to play a fancied Fanad Gaels side in the decider. In the final, Naomh Conaill playing some lovely football led at the interval 0-6 to 0-1 and affirmed their superiority in the second period to emerge victorious with the final score 0-14 to 0-7. Well done to Hughie, Joe, Kevin and their assistants and the panel of players on this fine achievement. Thanks to the Fanad Gaels club for the invite to a well organised tournament and their hospitality on the day.
The U-10s next outing is on 11th September when the club host the Glenties Harvest Fair blitz. Training for the A and B squads recommences this Wednesday 1st Sept in preperation for this.
