Shop and Share in Glenties
Have you had the chance to visit Shop and Share on Main Street, Glenties?  Open on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  It invites you to buy new, good as new clothes, shoes, accessories, toys, books, household goods, gifts for all the family while supporting the people of Jimma in Ethiopia.  The shop is the brain child of Maria Rafferty who has returned from three years working as a VSO in Ethiopia.  Maria was anxious to continue to support various projects she was involved in there, and Shop and Share does just that.  It is staffed by volunteers and the good people of Glenties and surrounding areas provide the stock.  The money gathered; combined with monthly contributions paid by some into a charity account, support several families devastated by aids; individual students in Jimma at second and third level who otherwise would miss out on education; and a group aiming to build a Centre for Street Children.  In Jimma € 7 a month can mean the difference between survival and starvation for some; so come in and browse, and perhaps get a bargain while helping others.  Perhaps you have extra Christmas gifts or other items you could donate.  Either way a warm welcome awaits you in Shop and Share.
