Naomh Conaill Club Notes 16th May 2013

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 9,11,24 and 29. Two prizes of €50 went to Martin Mc Taggart Narin and Conor Melly Glenties. Next weeks jackpot is €2,100

The club is currently running a draw. 1st prize 2 All Ireland football tickets, overnight accomadation in the Hartcourt hotel and €500 spending money, 2nd prize 2 tickets for Donegal v Tyrone. Tickets are €3 or 2 for €5. Tickets are available from club members.

Donegal v Tyrone tickets: The allocation of tickets is being decided. People receiving tickets will be contacted by the club.

Club Donegal jackets are on sale in the Co-Op.

The U-14′s are away to Bundoran in the Championship tonight Wednesday at 7pm.

The thirds had a good victory over Mac Cumhaills at the weekend. Naomh Conaill 1-07 0-04 Mac Cumhaills. This Saturday they are away to St Eunans at 7.30pm.

Both the seniors and reserves were defeated by St Eunans on Sunday. In the reserve game it finished St Eunans 4-04 1-05 Naomh Conaill while in the seniors it ended St Eunans 1-10 0-07 Naomh Conaill. This Sunday both teams are home to St Michaels. The reserve game is at 1.30pm followed by the senior game at 3pm.

Donegal GAA supporters club are holding a discussion forum in An Grianan Theatre Letterkenny on Wednesday 22nd May at 8pm. Special guests on the night are Martin Mc Hugh, Anthony Molloy, John Lynch and Pat Mc Anneney. Compeer on the night will be Highland Radios own Charlie Collins, music entertainment will be provided by Pat Gallagher (Goats Don’t shave) Eddie Gallagher and David Craig. Admission is only €10. There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 7,16,20 and 27. Two prizes of €50 went to Patricia Molloy Kilraine and Margaret Murray Burtonport. Next weeks jackpot is €5400.

The championship draw took place last Sunday. This year sees a new championship format. In the reserve and senior championship we have been drawn in Group A – St Eunans, Malin, Naomh Conaill and Cloughaneely. In the junior B championship we play Naomh Padraig and in the U21 we were drawn against Dungloe.

The club held a very successfull Casino Las Vegas night in the Highlands Hotel where there was a full house last Saturday night. Congratulations to Philip Gallagher Station Road who won €1000, Breda Mc Dyre Derries weekend break in the Harcourt Hotel Dublin, John ‘Pa’ Bonner 32″ television and to all other prize winners on the night. Congratulations to Michelle Flannery who won best dressed. Thanks to all our sponsors for being so generous – it is very much appreciated. Well done to eveyone involved in organising the night.

Membership for 2013 is now due. Adult membership is €40, youth €20 (for families with a number of children its €20 each for the 1st two children and then €10 for each additional child). There is also €100 membership which includes membership and entry into the weekly lotto. A registration/membership night will take place in the clubhouse this Friday 22nd February between 5.30 and 6.30pm. Only paid up members are allowed to use the gym.

The minor boards AGM will take place on Friday 7th December in the Clubhouse at 8.00pm. This is a very important meeting where underage managers for the coming year will be appointed. Anyone interested in helping out in any way is asked to attend.

The clubs AGM will take place in the Clubhouse on Friday 14th December at 8.00pm.

Commiserations to the U13 team who were beaten by the narrowest of margins 1 point in the county final by St Eunans. Naomh Conaill 3-05 3-06 St Eunans.

Well done to the U21 team who are through to the county semi final after they overcame Letterkenny Gaels in the quarter final last Saturday in Convoy. Naomh Conaill 0-10 2-03 Letterkenny Gaels. They now play Cloughaneely in the semi final this Sunday 2nd December at 12.30pm in O’Donnell park Letterkenny.

The senior team played their last league game of the year on Sunday in Towney where they overcame Kilcar 1-04 to 3-05.

The Naomh Conaill Ladies presentation night for all underage girls will take place in the Highlands Hotel on Sunday 2nd December at 7.00pm. This was a very special year for our underage girls as a large number of girls have three county medals to receive. Our U13 girls won the County league, U14 won the County feile and the county league. It would be appreciated if as many as possible could come along on the night to show their support. There will be a few special guests on the night.

The U21′s play Letterkenny Gaels this Saturday 24th November at 2pm in MacCumhaill Park.

Last weekends Division One Reserve and Senior league game between Kilcar and Naomh Conaill was called off due to the pitch being unplayable. It is now fixed for this Sunday 25th. The reserve game is at 1.00pm followed by the senior game at 2.15pm.

The U13′s were victorious by 0-10 to 0-08 over neighbours Ardara in the Division One Southern Regional Final played in Glenties last Sunday morning. This was a very exciting and tense affair with both teams serving up some good football for the large crowd. Ardara led at the interval by the narrowest of margins 0-06 to 0-05 but the boys in blue had the better of exchanges in the second period and despite late Ardara pressure held out for a two point winning margin. They now play MacCumhaills this weekend in the County Semi Final. See clubs website for details.

The club,U14 management and players wish to sincerely thank Eileen Mc Dyre of Raudon Teoranta once again for her very generous sponsorship of new Adidas tops for the U14 panel.

The minor team was beaten by Kilcar in the Regional Final last Friday night. Naomh Conaill 0-06 to 2-11 Kilcar. On Wednesday 14th November they play St Eunans in the County Semi Final in MacCumhaill park at 7.45pm.

The U-13 game due to be played last week between Naomh Conaill and Four Masters was cancelled. This Friday they are away to Dungloe at 5.15pm.

Commiserations to the U-14 team who were beaten in the county final last Sunday by St Eunans.

The minor team bet Naomh Mhuire in the championship quarter final on Sunday in Dooey. Naomh Conaill 0-11 1-06 Naomh Mhuire. They now play St Johns in the Regional semi final this Friday evening at 6.30pm in Donegal Town.

The third team was beaten by Ardara in the Junior B Championship.Ardara 2-07 1-08 Naomh Conaill.

The senior team play Killybegs in the final of the Patsy Brogan Memorial Tournament this Wednesday 19th at 6pm in Donegal town.

The club is starting a Last Man Standing, entry forms are available from Martin Doherty, Martin Regan and Eunan Mc Glinchey. Min €300 for the winner. Pick one team to win every week in the premiership. €10 to enter.

The Club would like to wish Anthony, Leo, Dermot,Marty, Jim, Joe and all the Donegal squad the best of luck for this weekends All Ireland final against Mayo in Croke Park.

The U-13′s had a comprehensive victory over Naomh Mhuire last week. This Friday they are home to Four Masters at 6.30pm.

Congratulations to the U-14 team who overcame Buncrana 3-07 to 2-12 in the County semi final on Monday evening. They now play St Eunans in the County Final.

The U-15′s were beaten in the semi final of the Ulster Og Sport. Well done to everyone involved in reaching this stage of the competition.

The minor championship quarter final playoff between Naomh Conaill and Naomh Mhuire will take place this Sunday in Dooey at 12 noon.

The third teams championship game against Ardara last Saturday in Fintra ended all square 1-11 each. The replay will take place this Sunday.Venue and time TBC so check clubs website for details.

In the final of the Patsy Brogan Memorial Tournament between Naomh Conaill and Killybegs last Wednesday it ended in a draw. Naomh Conaill 2-11 1-14 Killybegs. The replay will take place this Saturday evening at 6.00pm in Donegal Town.
