Glenties Notes 11th November 2010

New Arrivals
Congratulations to Danielle and Gavin Kelly, Strabane on the birth recently of their twins, a boy (Conn) and a girl (Sive).  Danielle is a daughter of Peter and Olive Mc Kelvey, Station Road, Glenties.

Sympathy
Sincere sympathy is extended to Teresa O’Donnell and family, Derries, Glenties on the death last week of her niece, Rita Mc Dyre, Drimarone.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the relatives and friends of Josie Mc Devitt, Meenavale, Glenties, who died at his home last week.

Glenties Classes
Kickboxing / Jujitsu – All levels welcome – Male & Female.  Classes taken by Edward Wallace (Blackbelt).  Juniors 7.30 – 8.30p.m.  Seniors – 8.30 – 9.30 p.m.

Circuits / Boxercise Fitness Classes:  Juniors 7.00 – 8.00 p.m. Adult Female Classes 8.00 – 9.30 p.m.  All classes are in Scoil Mhuire Gym.  The cost is € 4 per class.  Each additional class is half price.  For further information contact Aoife Mc Donnell at 087 1245587.

Glenties Variety Concert
A Variety Concert in aid of Glenties Church of Ireland will be held in the Highlands Hotel, Glenties on Friday 12th November, starting at 8 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served after the concert, followed by dancing to George Bustard, so come along, support this worthy cause and have a good night out for only  € 10.

Art Classes
Johnny Boyle Art Classes have begun on Tuesday evenings in the Highlands Hotel at 8. 00 p.m.

The Raphoe Diocesan Society
The Annual Diocesan Mass for the Deceased Members of The Raphoe Diocesan Society will be celebrated by Bishop Philip Boyce in St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Thursday 16th November at 7.30 p.m.

Friends of Letterkenny Hospital
The Friends of Letterkenny Hospital would like to thank all those who gave so generously to their recent Church Gate Collection.  A total of € 719.00 was collected.

Flu Vaccine
The Flu Vaccine is now available at the Glenties Health Centre.  It is recommended to all those aged over 65 years, those under 65 years with chronic health conditions, and those who are pregnant.  If you would like to avail of this service please contact the Health Centre, Glenties at 9551330 to make an appointment.

Security: Community Alert
Pensioners wishing to apply for Socially Monitored Alarms / Security Lights or Monitored Smoke Detectors are asked to contact any member of the Community Alert Committee or telephone Nora Breslin at 9551192, Michael Glynn at 9551593 or John Gormley at 9551258.
