Naomh Conaill GAA Club Notes 4th July 2016

There was no winner of this week Gaa Lotto; the numbers drawn out were 2-4-9-21 and the 2x€50 went to J.P O Donnell, Church rd Glenties and Aoife Kilbane, Ardara Next week’s Jackpot will be €7,200.

Naomh Conaill will be hosting a long summer camp through July and August starting date is Mon 4th July. The camp is on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9.30am-2.30pm. Camp will cost €5 on morning of each attendance. Family deals will be available. Camp age is 5-14 years. Free kits will be available for those who attend at least 80%. High levels of coaching from senior club players and lots of fun and games.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 17th October 2013

All roads lead to Ballybofey this Sunday for what is a really big day for the club. Leo’s reserve team take on Gweedore in the championship reserve county final replay at 1.45pm. Good luck to Leo, his mentors and the team. This is followed by the senior final which Naomh Conaill clubman Ian Molloy is refereeing accompanied by his umpires Anthony Molloy, Brian Carr, Michael Regan(Naomh Conaill) and Lee Jordan(Four Masters). Good luck lads.

Sunday was a great day for the club winning three out of three matches. First up were the U16’s who had a one point win over Aodh Ruadh. Naomh Conaill 2-07 3-03 Aodh Ruadh. The return leg will be played this Sunday in Ballyshannon at 12noon. This was followed by the reserves who had a comprehensive victory over Ardara. Naomh Conaill 0-16 1-03 Ardara. The seniors secured there place in Division One for next year when they put in a brilliant second half display to come out comprehensive winners over Ardara. Naomh Conaill 4-14 2-08 Ardara. This was the seniors last game of the year.

Hard luck to the U13’s who were beaten by St Nauls after extra time in the semi final on Monday night. St Nauls 4-12 4-08 Naomh Conaill.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 19th August 2013

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 2, 3, 4,and 5. Two prizes of €50 went to Patrick Brennan Shallogans and Lorraine Gallagher Sandfield. Next weeks jackpot is €3,500.

In the U13 league Division one section 2 Naomh Conaill are away to Dungloe on Saturday 24th at 12 noon.

The U15 team were defeated in the semi final of the regional og sport. They had beaten Dungloe and St Nauls to reach the semi final where they were beaten by two points by Ardara.

Well done to the U16 ‘s who defeated Aodh Ruadh by two points in the league. Naomh Conaill 5-08 3-12 Aodh Ruadh. In the U16 championship Division one preliminary round 1st leg Naomh Conaill are away to Killybegs on Monday 26th August at 7pm.

Well done to the reserve team who are through to the county semi final after they overcame St Eunans in the quarter final. Naomh Conaill 1-08 0-09 St Eunans. They now play Four Masters in the semi final this Sunday evening at 6pm in MacCumhaill park. Good luck to everyone involved.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 5th August 2013

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 4,13,15 and 17. Two prizes of €50 went to Packie Mc Gettigan Doochary and The Brown kid.. Next weeks jackpot is €3,300.

The July draw in the 200 plus club took place last Tuesday night at the community centre bingo. 1st prize €500 Anthony Thompson Ard Mc Gill. 5 prizes of €100 each Eamon Boyle Meenalaragan, Catherine Mc Gintey Brockagh, Leo Mc Loone Snr Main Street, Breidin Keeney Kilraine and Michelle Bennett Ardara.

The senior reserve championship quarter final between Naomh Conaill and St Eunans takes place this Saturday 10th August in Mac Cumhaill park Ballybofey at 6.00pm.

The seniors are in league action this Sunday 11th August away to Ardara at 3pm.

In their second game of the championship the Naomh Conaill senior ladies won at home against St Nauls with a final score of 4-08 to 1-11.

The Naomh Conaill 5k run/walk takes places this Friday 9th August at 7pm starting from the clubhouse. Come out and support your local club by running/walking or take along the buggy. Small kids are welcome to take their bikes to cycle along with a walker. Registration is from 6pm. There is ample parking and full changing/shower facilities. Tea and refreshments will be served immediately after the run/walk. A bouncy castle will also be on site to keep the children busy. Entry fee is €8 for adults and €3 for under 16’s.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 27th June 2013

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 3,7,21 and 23. Two prizes of €50 went to Cathie Connell Lough Fad and John O’Malley Station Road. Next weeks jackpot is €2,700.

The U12’s had a comprehensive victory over St Nauls on Monday night. Next Monday 1st July they are home to Ardara at 6.30pm.

This weekend Derry is hosting Feile Peile na nÓg and we are hosting the U14 boys from O’Donovan Rossa – Belfast and the U14 girls from Kilkenny city . The club would like to wish both teams a pleasant stay and good luck to both teams and our own U14 boys and girls team who are also taking part in feile.

The U16’s had a good victory over Killybegs winning 3-13 to 1-04. This Friday 28th June they are home to Aodh Ruadh at 7.30pm.

The Thirds had a good win over St Eunans at home last Friday. Naomh Conaill 1-11 0-05 St Eunans.

Both the seniors and reserves are back in championship action this weekend when they both take on St Eunans in O’Donnell park.

Congratulation to the Donegal senior football team who are through to the Ulster football final. Well done to Ian Molloy who was linesman at the Ulster minor semi final.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 30th April 2013

There was no winner last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 2,3,19 and 20. Two prizes of €50 went to Jackie Gallagher 16 Clos Naomh Conaill and James Griffin Derries. Next weeks jackpot is €6,30

The club is currently running a draw 1st prize 2 All Ireland football tickets, overnight accomodation in the Hartcourt hotel and €500 spending money. 2nd prize 2 tickets for the Donegal v Tyrone game. Tickets are €3 each or 2 for €5 and are available from club members.

The U14’s had a comprehensive victory over St Nauls in the league on Thursday night. Naomh Conaill 9-11 3-08 St Nauls. They continued their winning ways in the Championship on Monday night when they overcame Four Masters. Naomh Conaill 8-07 2-07 Four Masters. They are in championship action again on Wednesday night when they are away to Bundoran at 7.30pm.

The U15’s are through to the gaeltacht final after they overcame Glenswilly in the semi final. Glenswilly 0-03 5-09 Naomh Conaill.They now play Gweedore at 12noon on Monday 6th May in Glen.

The thirds get their season underway this Saturday 4th May at 7.30pm when they travel to Glenswilly.

The reserves had a good victory over Kilcar on Sunday in the league. Naomh Conaill 1-11 1-04 Kilcar. This Sunday 5th May they are away to Ardara at 1.30pm. It finished all square in the senior game. Naomh Conaill 0-08 0-08 Kilcar.
Naomh Conaill Ladies had their church gate collection at the three churches in the parish on the weekend of the 13th/14th April. The total amount collected was €901.47. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes January 16th 2013

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 4,9,24 and 30. Two prizes of €50 went to Bridie Doherty Mill Road Glenties and Mary Mc Mahon Fintown. Next weeks jackpot is €4,900.

The U21 team will play the winners of Ballinderry (Co Derry) or St Patricks Donagh (Co Fermanagh) in the U21 Ulster Club Championship quarter final on Sunday 10th February at 2.15pm.

There will be a basic coaching course in St Nauls Clubhouse on the 18th January 7-10.30pm and 19th January 9.30am-4.30pm. It is important that anyone involved with any team this year that they have this course done. There will also be a level 1 coaching course in Donegal Town on 15th/16th February and 22nd/23rd February. Anyone interested in doing any of these courses can contact Martin Regan on 086 1020471 for more information.

From 1st January it was made compulsory to use a mouthguard in all gaelic football matches and training sessions for all underage teams up to and including minor. Mouthguards are available from a number of different outlets. For further information see the Southern Regional GAA Board on the Donegal GAA Website.

The clubs reconvened AGM was held last Sunday. Thanks to all who attended. The following are the club officers that were elected for 2013. The following were appointed underage managers for the coming year. U8 Pat Ward,U10 to be appointed, U12 Martin Shankey Smith, U13 Hughie Mc Gill, U14 Martin Regan, U16 Seosamh Mc Kelvey and U18 Leo Mc Loone.

Membership for 2013 is now available. Membership for adults is €40 and €20 for youths. The closing date for membership is 31st March.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 10th October 2012

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 2, 11, 14 and 16. Two prizes of €50 went to Peter Sweeney Croagh and Teresa Furey The Glen.Next weeks jackpot is €3,500.

The 11th draw in the 200 club took place at the Community Centre bingo last Tuesday. 1st prize €500 Muriel Hegarty Mullantyboyle.5 prizes of €100 went to Ronnie Kee Mullantyboyle, Paddy Doherty Stranalough, Bernie Keeney The Rock, Senan O’Donnell Mullantyboyle and Maggie Timoney The Rock.

The U-13’s are at home to Four Masters in the league this Thursday 11th October at 5.30pm.

Both the reserves and seniors recorded away victories in the 1st Round 2nd leg of the championship against St Nauls on Saturday evening. The reserves put in a great display of football to bet St Nauls 3-14 to 0-03 while the seniors won 0-12 to 0-06. Both teams have to wait for the playoffs to see who they face in the quarter final. They will play the winners of the Glenfin v Bundoran game which is due to be played on Wednesday with the quarter final for the seniors due to be played this weekend. See clubs website for details

Congratulations to the Naomh Conaill U13 Girls who won the County Final last Wenesday. After a great performance the game ended 1-10 to 1-06. The Naomh Conaill Ladies underage had a very successful year and would like to congratulate all the players for their commitment and hard work throughout the year. Congratulations to all who was involved with the team especially the management which included Christopher Molloy, Joe Byrne, Lorraine Molloy and Caroline Boyle Carr. Well done girls.

In the U-13 League Division One Naomh Conaill are home to Aodh Ruadh this Saturday at 12 noon.

Both the reserves and seniors recorded home victories in the 1st Round 1st Leg of the championship on Sunday over St Nauls. The reserves won 1-13 to 1-04 while the seniors also had a good win 1-09 to 0-03. The 2nd leg takes place this Saturday in Mountcharles. The reserve game is at 3.30pm followed by the senior game at 5.00pm.

The clubs last man standing starts this Saturday. Entry forms are still available from Martin Doherty, Martin Regan and Eunan Mc Glinchey. €10 to entry with a min €300 for the winner. All sheets must be returned before Saturday.

The club would like to thank everyone who helped in any way with the homecoming for the All Ireland Senior Football Champions Donegal. Your help was very much appreciated.

The Ladies held their AGM in the clubhouse last Friday. The following officers were elected for the coming year – Chairperson Shauna Molloy, Secretary Grainne Mc Loone, Treasurer Helen Mc Nelis, Childrens Officer Lynn Porter, PRO Alision Doherty and Lorraine Molloy,Senior & Minor Manager Hughie Molloy and U12 Manager Lorraine Molloy.

Naomh Conaill Club Notes 28th September 2011

Congratulations to the Donegal senior team on winning the All Ireland Football final over Mayo. This was a very proud day for the club having so many lads involved in the team- manager Jim Mc Guinness, players Leo, Anthony, Dermot & Marty, kit man Joe and Charles.Well done boys on your great achievement.

There was no winner of last weeks lotto. The numbers drawn were 5,6,9 and 16. Two prizes of €50 went to Phil Mc Kelvey C/O Glenties Day Centre and Angela Callaghan Kilraine. Next weeks jackpot is €3,300.

The U-13 had a very comprehensive victory over Dungloe last Friday.

The minor regional semi final game against St Johns that was due to be played last Friday was cancelled. No date has yet been set for the game.

Congratulations to the Senior team who won the Patsy Brogan Memorial Tournament final in Donegal Town last Wednesday when they defeated Killybegs 1-13 to 0-12. Well done also to Daragh Gallagher who was received Man of the Match.

The Donegal senior championship 1st round 1st leg takes place this weekend. Both the seniors and reserves are home to St Nauls on Sunday. The reserve game is at 1.30pm followed by the senior game at 3.00pm.

The U-13 girls beat Carndonagh in the Group A County Semi Final in Killygordon last Wednesday. They are now through to the County Final which will take place in the next couple of weeks.

The minor girls won their game against Gweedore, their next game is against Naomh Mhuire.
